A new study by astronomers has once again found that the expansion of the Universe is occurring faster than current cosmological models predict. This is supported by observations from the Hubble and James Webb space telescopes and the DESI spectroscopic instrument installed at the Kitt Peak Observatory. And although scientists emphasize the possible influence of errors in measurements or analysis methods, the result may indicate the existence of unknown components in the Universe that affect the rate of its expansion. The study is published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.
