Ukraine ranks 4th, along with China, Turkey and Iran. Nut growing remains one of the most profitable branches of the agricultural sector, since almost all soils in the country are suitable for growing nuts. The state actively supports the development of the industry through grant programs that allow expanding the area of plantations. Thus, under the program of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, more than UAH 299.9 million was allocated, which contributed to the creation of 1,185 hectares of new orchards, of which 95% are hazelnut plantations.The main regions for growing walnut orchards are Kyiv, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. At the same time, in the northern and eastern regions, such as Rivne, Chernihiv, Donetsk and Kirovohrad regions, the area of plantations remains small. Given the promising prospects of the industry, state support and growing demand on the world market, Ukraine has every chance to strengthen its position as one of the leading suppliers of nut products.
