Naftogaz of Ukraine and ORLEN Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership

Naftogaz of Ukraine Group and Polish energy company ORLEN have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which opens a new page in energy cooperation between Ukraine and Poland. The document was signed by Serhiy Koretsky, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz, and Ireneusz Fonfara, General Director of ORLEN.According to the press service of Naftogaz, the Memorandum provides for joint work in key areas: development of energy resources, development of new fields and implementation of joint energy projects.

 

The parties paid special attention to the restoration of Ukraine's gas infrastructure, destroyed as a result of Russian aggression.During the meeting, issues of natural gas and oil product supplies, as well as prospects for cross-border and commercial cooperation, were also discussed.“We see great potential in developing partnership with ORLEN. I am convinced that our cooperation will reach a new level. I sincerely thank the Polish partners and personally Mr. Ireneusz Fonfari for their constructiveness and support for Ukraine,” Serhiy Koretsky emphasized. We will remind that recently Naftogaz concluded a third agreement with ORLEN for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is another step towards strengthening Ukraine’s energy security.
