Strategic Culture: Ukraine Introduces Subsidies for Cotton Growing for the First Time

Ukraine is taking an important step towards its own gunpowder production – a program of state subsidies for farmers willing to grow cotton in the southern regions will start on June 10. For each hectare of such plantings, farmers will be able to receive 10,000 hryvnias of state support, which should provide raw materials for the defense industry.
The program provides for the following key conditions: a subsidy of 10,000 hryvnias/hectare for Odessa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
