In 988, the Baptism of Rus determined the spiritual and civilizational choice of our ancestors, becoming the basis for the development of Ukrainian culture, law and state institutions. This day is a tribute not only to Grand Duke Volodymyr, but also to all those who fought for the freedom, identity and self-determination of the Ukrainian people throughout the centuries.
We remember all the milestones of our statehood - the Cossack era, the struggle of the Ukrainian People's Republic, the Western Ukrainian People's Republic, Carpathian Ukraine, as well as the restoration of independence in 1991. Ukraine has its own coat of arms, language, traditions, the right to a future, and a history that cannot be rewritten.Ukrainian Statehood Day is more than a date on the calendar. It is a day of memory, dignity, and strength of spirit that shape our unity and unwavering faith in victory.
