In January 2026, a new strategic salt plant will begin operating in the Odessa region, capable of providing up to 50% of domestic demand for food and technical salt. The enterprise will produce about 15 thousand tons of products per month and will reach industrial volumes in the first month of operation, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Kuyalnytskyi NPP.
The construction of the facility, which is being carried out by LLC "Chornomorskyi Solezavod", started in 2024 and is currently in the final stage. Specialists from the largest Ukrainian salt mining enterprise - Donetsk "Artemsol", as well as experts from the Turkish company SALT PLUS, joined the creation of the production. The total investment is $ 2.8 million, attracted within the framework of the state preferential lending program "5-7-9%.The new plant will operate on the basis of complex technologies of deep cleaning, grinding and innovative drying of salt, which will allow to produce products on an industrial scale and significantly reduce the country's dependence on imports.
