Ukraine sharply increases walnut exports

Ukraine is exporting about 35 thousand tons of walnuts this season, which is 14.1 thousand tons, or 67% more than last year. This is reported by Dengi.ua, citing the forecast of analysts of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).According to USDA estimates, global production of walnuts in shell in the 2025/26 season will reach 2.7 million tons, which is 3% more than last year.

The largest contribution to growth will be provided by:USA — 644 thousand tons (+97 thousand tons);EU — 139.4 thousand tons (+1 thousand tons);China — stable 1.55 million tons;Turkey — 47 thousand tons (–13 thousand tons).In Ukraine, according to USDA estimates, the walnut harvest will be about 100 thousand tons, which is 1.36 thousand tons (+1.3%) more than in the 2024/25 season. The country is already among the world leaders - last year it took fourth place in terms of production.World walnut exports in the 2025/26 season will increase by 3% and will reach 1.22 million tons for the first time.The growth in walnut exports indicates the strengthening of Ukraine's positions in a highly profitable niche of the global agricultural market, despite the general decrease in grain supplies.
