Spain falls out of the top ten of the world ranking of fruit and vegetable producers, as it is overtaken by Egypt, Indonesia and Ukraine. According to Faostat, Egypt, Indonesia and Ukraine have overtaken Spain in the world ranking of fruit and vegetable producing countries. Fepex shows that Spanish production fell by 10% in the period from 2020 to 2023, from 31 million tons to 28 million tons.
