India is the largest buyer of Ukrainian peas

This was stated on the air of "Social News" by the president of the Ukrainian Bean and Soybean Association Antonina Sklyarenko. She emphasized that in the last three years, the official Delhi has canceled import duties on peas, which stimulates Ukrainian agricultural producers to export their products. In addition, the cancellation of import duties correlates with an increase in purchase prices.

Antonina Sklyarenko also recalled that in 2025, a Protocol was signed between Ukraine and the PRC, which opens up export opportunities for our peas. Currently, work on an agreement that allows the export of Ukrainian peas to China is in the final stage. "This stimulates farmers to increase the area sown under the crop, which can be sold at an attractive price," the president of the Ukrainian Bean and Soybean Association noted. According to her, Ukraine currently ranks 6th-7th among pea exporters, although before the full-scale war we were consistently in the top three among pea exporting countries. Currently, the top three are Canada, the Russian Federation, and the United States. However, according to Antonina Sklyarenko, Ukraine currently has every chance to restore its export positions in the pea market.
