Ukraine has confidently secured its status as the world leader in frozen raspberry exports in 2025. The key strategy for the domestic fruit and vegetable sector for 2026 remains aggressive expansion into foreign markets.
This was stated by the President of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA), Taras Bashtannyk, during the specialized conference “Profitable Agribusiness 2026”.
According to the expert, the potential for further volume growth remains high, despite the difficult production conditions. Similar growth is observed in the blueberry segment, where production increases by 15–20% every year. However, farmers here have encountered restrictions on domestic demand.
Domestic market: reached its maximum consumption — about 10 thousand tons.
Export potential: Ukraine currently supplies 8–10 thousand tons of blueberries abroad.
“The domestic market has reached the “ceiling”, so further development of the industry is possible only through exports,” Bashtannyk emphasized.
Compared to world giants such as Chile and Peru (exports up to 400 thousand tons), Ukraine has a huge space to replace other players in the global market and increase its share.
