Europe buys over 90% of Ukrainian organic exports
The Ukrainian organic market remains predominantly export-oriented. This was stated on Facebook by Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Taras Vysotskyi following the results of an international conference.“We are actively working on the development of domestic consumption, but objectively we understand that it is exports that will form the main share of the market,” he noted. Vysotskyi emphasized that the European Union remains a key market. Ukraine is consistently among the top suppliers of organic products to the EU, and the government is doing everything to maintain this leadership. According to the ministry, Europe’s share in Ukrainian organic exports in 2024 is 93%, North American countries buy 6% of such products, and Asia — 2%.In total, in 2024, Ukraine sent 243 thousand tons of organic products worth $141 million to foreign markets.During 2018-2024, exports of organic products to the EU exceeded 170 thousand tons. The nomenclature includes corn, wheat, soybeans, sunflower and its processed products, millet, berries, honey, etc.
