According to a KPMG study, the total value of announced mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deals in Ukraine from January to September 2026 reached $2.139 billion.
This is nearly double the figure for the same period last year.
Which sectors are attracting investor interest?
Key areas of focus include:
The agricultural sector — production and processing.
Industry — the development of manufacturing enterprises.
Technology — digital solutions and innovative developments.
Energy — infrastructure and energy projects.
The consumer market — goods and services for the general public.
KPMG data indicates that 51 deals were recorded during the first nine months of 2026, compared to 47 during the same period the previous year.
The number of deals involving foreign investors also increased, rising from 8 to 13.
What does this mean for the economy?
Increased investment activity creates opportunities for business development, capital attraction, the modernization of production facilities, and expansion into new markets.
At the same time, the total value of these deals is heavily influenced by a few large transactions, and some of the announced agreements may still be in the process of being finalized.
