EU strengthens free trade with Ukraine for integration into the single market

The implementation of a free trade area between the European Union and Ukraine is an important step that will allow Ukraine to become part of the single European market. The EU institutions intend to intensify this process and accelerate its implementation.This was announced by European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maroš Šefčovič during a joint meeting of the Ukrainian government and the European Commission in Kyiv. He noted that the next step in cooperation between the European Commission and the Ukrainian government will be to accelerate the implementation of free trade. To this end, the EC expects to see the results of the reforms that have been implemented in Ukraine since 2021, as well as to familiarize itself with the action plan for 2025-2026.
