Resumption of large-diameter pipe production in Ukraine

Resumption of large-diameter pipe production in Ukraine

Ukraine is resuming large-diameter pipe production. Despite a full-scale war, the Ukrainian metallurgical industry is demonstrating examples of resilience and recovery. In particular, most enterprises specializing in the production of large-diameter steel pipes (with a diameter of 426 to 1420 mm) have resumed work. All of these enterprises are located in the Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk region, which traditionally remains the center of pipe production in the country.Among the key trends are the stabilization of production volumes and a partial increase in revenue. One of the enterprises was able to increase product sales by an average of 70% each year, also increasing the number of personnel. Other plants, despite a temporary reduction in activity, are returning to pre-war indicators, demonstrating profitable work in 2024.

However, some manufacturers have faced a decrease in income, a decrease in the number of employees and losses. This is especially noticeable for those who were closely connected to the domestic market, which has undergone a significant reduction. It is worth noting that some small enterprises operating in a limited niche - for example, supplying products to mining and processing plants - were also able to restore their revenue to pre-war levels, despite difficult conditions. In general, the Ukrainian large-diameter pipe industry demonstrates adaptability and the ability to recover even in wartime. This indicates the demand for domestic products, the flexibility of management decisions on the ground, and the important role of the industry in the country's economy.
