120 million tons of cargo have already been exported via the Ukrainian sea corridor

In the first months of 2025, Ukraine transported over 28 million tons of cargo, of which 15 million tons were grain crops. This allowed:to support the agricultural sector, which remains one of the main sectors of the economy;to ensure stable foreign exchange earnings;to avoid complete dependence on land routes, which are less efficient due to high costs. The sea corridor covered 53 countries, including the states of North Africa (Kenya, Djibouti) and Southeast Asia (Bangladesh). For these regions, Ukrainian grain remains critically important, as land logistics significantly increases its cost, making it less competitive.
According to estimates by the National Bank of Ukraine, up to 30% of metal products are exported via the sea corridor. For the agricultural sector, its role is even more important:15–20% of the added value in grain exports is provided precisely thanks to sea transportation;without this route, Ukrainian goods would lose their competitiveness on world markets.
