Ukrainian graphite deposit included in the list of strategic projects of the European Union

The European Commission has approved the first list of 13 strategic projects located outside the European Union, aimed at diversifying sources of supply of strategic raw materials and increasing the economic security of the EU. This is stated in the European Commission's statement, LIGA.net reports.Six of these projects are located in countries with a strategic partnership with the EU (Ukraine, Canada, Kazakhstan, Norway, Serbia, Zambia), two - in overseas territories (Greenland and New Caledonia), and the rest - in Brazil, Madagascar, Malawi, South Africa and the United Kingdom.10 projects concern materials for electric vehicles and batteries (lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, graphite), two - rare earth elements for wind turbines and electric motors, as well as copper, tungsten and boron for various industries.The Ukrainian project is the Balakhiv graphite deposit. The project is being promoted by Rozvytok Pobuzhzhya LLC, a member of the BGV Group, and is aimed at supplying battery-grade graphite.
