How Ukrainian agricultural exports changed in the 2024/25 marketing year

Since the beginning of the current marketing year (2024/2025), Ukraine has exported more than 40 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, demonstrating the resilience of the agricultural sector despite difficult conditions. However, the total volume of supplies is slightly lower compared to the same period last season. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, citing data from the State Customs Service. These indicators indicate the ability of the country's agricultural sector to maintain export potential under martial law.

The export structure looks as follows: corn traditionally remains the leader with a volume of 21.56 million tons, although this figure is 24% lower compared to last year's 28.41 million tons. 15.56 million tons of wheat were shipped (compared to 18.12 million tons last season), 2.31 million tons of barley (2.46 million tons in 2023/24 MY).Of particular note is the sharp increase in rye exports - from 1.6 thousand tons last season to 10.8 thousand tons in the current one. Ukraine also exported 68.7 thousand tons of flour, which is 29% less than the same indicator last year (96.7 thousand tons).Let us recall that last season Ukraine set an absolute record for grain exports, despite the blockade of Black Sea ports. The current figures, although lower than the record, indicate the stable operation of alternative logistics routes, in particular the Danube corridor and rail transportation.
