State Geocadastre: The volume of the land market in Ukraine reached 1 million hectares

The total volume of transactions on the agricultural land market has crossed the mark of one million hectares.
Since the actual lifting of the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land on July 1, 2021 and as of March 3, 2026, 334,803 land purchase and sale agreements with a total area of 1.001 million hectares have been concluded.
The average price of one hectare during this period increased by 96% in hryvnia equivalent and at the beginning of 2026 amounted to 64,631 hryvnia or 1,501 USD.
The largest number of transactions for the entire period of the operation of the land market in Ukraine was recorded in Sumy (32,396), Poltava (31,478) and Vinnytsia (27,970) regions.
In contrast, the lowest activity was recorded in Volyn region, where 1,307 transactions were concluded, Rivne (1,352) and Zaporizhia (2,479) regions.
As noted by the Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre Dmytro Makarenko, despite the fact that the market dynamics were uneven in terms of calendar due to the shock caused by the full-scale invasion, in general its development was smooth and consistent.
According to him, thanks to a number of implemented safeguards, the lifting of the moratorium did not cause social and economic tension; it was also possible to avoid pressure on business entities and turbulence in the agro-industrial complex.
