Ukraine maintains its leading position in the global grain and oilseed market

Ukraine continues to hold leading positions among grain and oilseed exporters. According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine and market analysts, Ukrainian products are steadily supplied to foreign markets, in particular to countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

In the period from April 1 to 17, 2025, wheat exports amounted to 435.2 thousand tons, which is 27% less than in the same period of the previous month. The main importers were Algeria (30% of the volume), Egypt (14%) and Bangladesh (13%).In total, since the beginning of the 2024/25 marketing year (01.07.2024 - 17.04.2025), Ukraine has exported 13.48 million tons of wheat.

As of April 16, 2025, the cost of wheat in France (FOB) was $244 per ton, while in Ukraine (CPT) it was $207 in the central regions and $231 in the ports.In the first 17 days of April, corn exports amounted to 1,049.5 thousand tons, which is 23% less than in March. The largest importers were Turkey (33%), Italy (11%) and the Netherlands (7%).In total, corn exports for the 2024/25 MY reached 17.96 million tons. The average price in the USA (FOB) was $224 per ton, while in Ukraine (CPT) it was $207 in the central regions and $224 in the ports.In April, Ukraine exported 29.7 thousand tons. tons of barley — 1.6 times less than in March. The main importing countries were Jordan (64%), Lebanon (19%) and Cyprus (11%).

Since the beginning of the marketing year, the volume of barley exports amounted to 2.2 million tons. The cost of barley in France (FOB) was 226 US dollars per ton, in Ukraine (CPT) — 193 dollars in the central regions and 215 dollars in the ports.In the first 17 days of April, the volume of sunflower seed exports amounted to 0.6 thousand tons, which is 2.2 times less than in March. The main buyers were the Czech Republic (46%), Bulgaria (26%) and Armenia (9%).At the same time, sunflower oil exports increased by 18% and amounted to 289.5 thousand tons.

The largest importers were Iraq (20%), Turkey (18%) and the Netherlands (15%).Since the beginning of the season (01.09.2024 – 17.04.2025), 65.5 thousand tons of sunflower seeds and 3.15 million tons of sunflower oil have been exported.Product prices as of mid-April: sunflower seeds in the EU (Rotterdam, FOB) — 736 USD per ton, in Ukraine (CPT) — 502–529 USD, sunflower oil (FOB) — 1,119 USD per ton.Positive dynamics are observed in rapeseed exports: 50.3 thousand tons were exported in the first half of April, which is 2.5 times more than in March. The main buyers were the United Kingdom (67%), Germany (19%) and the Czech Republic (12%).Since the beginning of the 2024/25 marketing year, Ukraine has exported 3.02 million tons of rapeseed. The average price in France (FOB) as of mid-April was 616 USD per ton.
