In August 2025, 3.75 million tons of foreign goods were imported into the customs territory of Ukraine, which is 34.8% more than in the same period last year. This was reported by the State Customs Service, Ukrinform reports. It is noted that the main drivers of growth were petroleum products, passenger cars, petroleum gases and coal. Thus, despite a slight decrease in the volume of imports of petroleum products from 849 thousand tons in August last year to 836.1 thousand tons in August this year, revenues increased by UAH 3.42 billion due to an increase in excise rates.
Imports of cars increased from 37.2 thousand tons to 56.9 thousand tons, which provided over UAH 1 billion in additional revenues. Imports of petroleum gases increased from 124.3 thousand tons to 128.1 thousand tons (+0.94 billion UAH). Imports of coal and anthracite increased threefold - from 141.9 thousand tons to 440.6 thousand tons (+0.51 billion UAH).In total, UAH 61.86 billion in customs payments were transferred to the budget, which is UAH 10.74 billion more than last year. In dollar terms, this is USD 1.51 billion, or 15.8% more than in August 2024.At the same time, the department noted that the indicators were negatively affected by a lower than “budget” exchange rate and an increase in the volume of customs payment privileges.
