Ukrainian farmers receive 226 modular granaries from FAO

FAO, with the support of the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine and the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, continues to distribute modern granaries in front-line regions. This was reported by the FAO press service. The following have already received assistance:– 103 farms in Dnipropetrovsk region;– 67 farms in Odesa region;– 56 farms in Chernihiv region. In the coming weeks, the remaining 615 granaries will be transferred to farmers from Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. This will allow farmers to store their crops without losses and not sell grain immediately after harvest. In front-line regions, this equipment is becoming critically important: shelling and destroyed infrastructure limit access to elevators, so own granaries are a matter of food security. Thanks to the FAO program, Ukrainian farms already have more than 7.5 million tons of additional storage capacity. The new storage facilities will help save another 615 thousand tons of grain.
